Hey all, I just wanted to throw up a post with an update on our opening plans. It is no secret that the recent rain and warm temps were devastating. Our natural snowpack went from about a foot and a half to just an inch or two in most places. As a resort that relies on natural snow more than most in our area, that was definitely a huge blow to our Opening Day plans.
Looking ahead, another quick warmup and more rain is being forecast for this Saturday. Due to these unfortunate weather patterns, we’ll be moving Opening Day back a week to Friday, December 20th. Snowmaking continues tonight and it looks like we’ll be making a return to colder temps and snow after this weekend.
We’re ready to hop on our skis and boards as much as anyone, so we know this is a bit of a bummer. But we’re looking forward to kicking off another great season next Friday! We know that lake effect machine is going to kick on eventually, fingers crossed that it’s sometime soon!
Thanks for everyone’s patience, and we hope to see you all next week!
