Hello Snow Ridge friends! First and foremost, we hope this note finds you and your family healthy and safe during these turbulent times. I wanted to reach out with an update concerning our summer operations (or unfortunate lack thereof) and what we’ve been up to over the last few months.
As you already know, our spring and early summer events were already pushed to next year, including TugMudDare, A Lovely Time, and several private events. Additionally, it is becoming more clear that our late summer and fall events may be in jeopardy as well. At the moment, we do not plan to host our annual Bacon, Brews and Blues or RidgeFest events this year. Obviously with the ongoing pandemic, these events would not fall within the current state guidelines. Things could certainly change between now and then, and if they do we will reassess the situation at that time. However, for the time being we do not have them on our events schedule.
We are currently working with couples who booked their weddings with us this summer to either reschedule or move forward in a safe, responsible manner. We are currently booking small events of 50 people or less in the Tavern, Wax House, or outdoors. You may reach out to Cyndy at [email protected] or 315-348-8456 for more information or to book an event!
With the downtime due to all the cancelled events, we’ve been keeping ourselves busy sprucing the place up! The Wax House exterior paint project is nearly finished, including a new wall and AC unit to replace the old boarded up windows in the Northeast corner of the building. The Ski Patrol building has received a new paint job, with some new doors and fixtures going into those bathrooms serving Snowy and Little Mountain. We’ve also been working on a new menu for the Tavern, updating the trail map including some NEW trails (more info to come!), acquiring new tower padding for Ridge Runner and North Chairs, upgrading our snow guns, and planning our electric drive replacement to give Ridge Runner some new life!
Finally, the project we’re most excited about, the Tavern Après Patio! The site has been excavated, stone has been tamped and graded, and we are ready to pour concrete next week! Our initial crowd funding response was incredible, and we can’t thank those who have backed the project enough. However, we’ve added significantly to the size and cost of the project, so a strong finish to the Kickstarter campaign is crucial this week. If you can help us reach our goal or even just share the info with others, it would be a huge help before the campaign ends this Friday! You can follow this link to get all the details on the project and see all the great rewards available for becoming a backer!
I think that about sums it up for now! We’re going to keep working away and we can’t wait to see everyone again someday soon. In the meantime, stay safe and keep an eye out for one another!
