Hey folks! Your friendly neighborhood snowmaker here, checking in with an update of our progress thus far. I’ll be honest, last week my hopes were not very high looking at the extended forecast. However, this week is an entirely different story! We fired the guns back up yesterday morning and should have a solid run right through til Thursday morning. Our 3 new TechnoAlpin fans will be able to run without interruption, thanks to their increased efficiency and higher wet bulb tolerance. These fans are doing some really impressive work, it’s great to see that investment paying off!
Following this week’s snowmaking run, it looks like we can expect some pretty decent snowfall to be coming through this weekend. Moving into next week, night time temps will hopefully drop a bit and make for some decent night runs to fill in any remaining gaps on South.
Moral of the story, opening day is finally within sight! Will that be this weekend? Unlikely, but possible given the right conditions for the next few days. More likely, we’re looking at a Christmas weekend opening with daytime operations running through the Holiday Break. I’m not normally one to make predictions like this, but all signs are positive at the moment and vibes are as high as the whales on South!
I know you all want to hit the slopes as much as I do, so I’ll keep hammering through the week to make that happen as soon as possible. As always, do your snow dances, turn those pajamas inside out, and think snow! We’ll see you on the slopes very soon!
