Hello friends! It’s been wild around here this fall, but things are starting to look much more like normal. Tornado repairs are going great, we’ve already seen a 30″ lake effect storm, and winter vibes are returning to the Ridge! Here’s a quick update to keep everyone in the loop.
Snow Pocket t-bar: Inspected and ready to operate!
Bunny Bowl carpet: Inspected and ready to operate!
Ridge Runner chair: Too many completed repairs to list, but most recently the counter weight sheaves and cable have been replaced, and counter weight is hung. Some minor safety circuit work, one more sheave repair, and slip testing is all that remains before final load test and inspection. I anticipate this lift will be ready for operation before Christmas break.
Little Mountain chair: New bottom terminal building is complete and all new galvanized chairs will be hung by EOD tomorrow. We only await National Grid to restore power to the lift and slip testing before final load test and inspection. This one is so close I can taste it! Potentially ready for operation within a week.
North chair: The counter weight frame has been repaired and counter weight rehung. One tower requires welding to realign the sheave trains, new safety circuit needs to be wired in, and all chairs slip tested before load test and inspection. This will be the final lift spinning this season, but I anticipate that happening sometime early January.
Snowmaking: We’ve been making snow at every opportunity. Unfortunately, those opportunities have been few and far between. We have a good start on South Slope and Bunny Bowl, and will continue to make snow as temps allow. The first big snow storm of the season was great to see, but it’s looking like another slow start to winter overall for most of the northeast. While we wait, do your snow dances and we’ll keep spinning the fans!
Normal pre-season prep is underway across the rest of the resort. Our new season pass and ticketing system will be ready to launch within days, rental equipment is getting tuned up, the Tavern is being prepped for early season aprés, and more staff is returning every week to help get our little north country diamond all polished up for the season!
We’re patiently awaiting the imminent return of winter, and can’t wait to see everyone soon! Think snow!
