Hey folks! That familiar warmth is back in the air and it’s once again our favorite time of the year! Spring skiing and riding at the Ridge is ON! Before I get into everything that we have planned for the next few weeks, I just want to recap the epic season we’ve had.
We began our season on December 7th after a nice stretch of snowmaking temps and some early natural snowfall. From there, it was off to the races. The snowmaking season was fast and furious this year, resulting in more snow on our main 4 trails than we’ve ever seen before, leaving us with a deeeeep base to get us through these warmer temps. The lake effect did not disappoint this year either! After VERY narrowly missing a couple of early season monsters, the winds changed in our favor after the new year and we currently sit at 228″ for the season. I have no doubt that we’ll end the season with the largest snow total that we’ve seen in the last 10 years. Since the lake effect started hitting, we’ve been skiing on 100% open terrain including a nice long season on Little Mountain and some EPIC days on the Pocket. At the end of this week, we’ll have 66 days of lift served skiing under our belt. To compare that to last winter, we hit our ’23-’24 season total for days open on February 15th this year! What a difference a year makes, and what a winter it’s been.
Do not be mistaken, however, the season is far from over! We still have full coverage across the resort and the main slopes have a very solid 18″-36″ base. So with that in mind, let’s talk about what still lays ahead. Spring hours are now in effect, with a Friday-Sunday schedule that is very much weather dependent. Here’s a look at what we (tentatively) have planned for the next few weeks.
Friday, March 14th: 10am-9pm
– This will be the final chance for night skiing this season! Temps will be warm, the snow will be soft, and there’s nothing better than making spring turns under the lights. We’ll be spinning the carpet, Ridge Runner, and Little Mountain.
Saturday, March 15th: 9am-3pm
– It looks like we can expect some tropical temps this Saturday. Take advantage and get some of this rare warm weather shred! We will be spinning the carpet, Ridge Runner, and Little Mountain for the final time of the season. The hill will be closing at 3pm for our second snowmobile hill climb of the season, which should kick off around 5pm.
Sunday, March 16th: 9am-4pm***
– This one comes with a big asterisk, as it looks like Sunday may be a wash out. We do not anticipate opening on Sunday, so check the report before coming out.
Friday, March 21st: 10am-4pm
– This would be the final Friday of the season, assuming decent weather. Carpet and Ridge Runner only.
Saturday, March 22nd: 10am-4pm
– POND SKIM! As always, this date is fully dependent on the weather and we will push it back if Mother Nature doesn’t give us a nice warm day to celebrate. Carpet and Ridge Runner.
Sunday, March 23rd: 10am-4pm
– As always, weather dependent opening. Carpet and Ridge Runner.
Saturday, March 29th and Sunday, March 30th: TBD
– Assuming the snowpack holds and the weather is kind, we’ll be open!
Tuesday, April 1st: Spring Season Pass Sale Begins
– This is the time to get your ’25-’26 Season Passes at the cheapest rates. Sale will run until May 1st.
Saturday, April 5th: Season Ending Rail Jam
– We’ll have a special park event going down on Bunny Bowl no matter what the rest of the hill looks like. If it makes sense to open the main hill, we’ll spin Ridge Runner one last time!
At that point, we’ll likely be calling it a season. It’s hard to believe we’re almost to this point, but boy does it feel good to have had another REAL Tug Hill winter. We have SO many plans coming for the summer months. I won’t get into those now, but will be sure to post an update later in the spring outlining what we have in store.
As always, a huge thank you goes out to our staff who have been absolute rockstars this season. They keep us going and we are forever grateful for their efforts! And of course, thank you to everyone who has visited us, shared our posts, spread the word, and continues to share in our vision and passion for this beautiful little slice of the world.
This will wrap up my family’s 10th season of stewarding Snow Ridge. It’s been one heck of a ride, but I’m here to assure you that we are only just beginning. Stay tuned, stay healthy, stay safe and we’ll see you on the slopes!
