2/27/20-2/29/20 Storm Updates

February 27, 2020

As the storm rolls in this morning, I figured I would start a post to keep everyone updated throughout the duration of the cycle. Check back here for up to date info about snow totals, operating hours, and the weekend’s events over the next few days!

Update #1: 7:30AM Thursday

Snow started falling around 6AM this morning, and we’ve already piled up a couple inches in less than two hours. Looks like it will be a pretty killer pow day with free refills all day! Today’s hours of operation are 10AM-4PM, with Ridge Runner servicing 13 trails. There will be NO night skiing tonight due to the difficult travel conditions expected after sunset. The Tavern will also remain closed today, but food will be available in the Wax House. Continuous snowfall means no groomer runs, meaning difficult conditions for beginners. We recommend any beginner skiers or riders hold off until this weekend. Powder hounds, come and get it! And as always, everyone drive safe on your way to and from the Ridge!

Update #2: 12:30PM Thursday

It’s starting to pile up now! The winds have kicked up and the snow has been falling at about an inch per hour all morning. We’re at 6 inches and counting. We’d definitely recommend some afternoon laps to get a quick powder fix! Lifts spin until 4PM. Drive safe out there.

Update #3: 7:00PM Thursday

Yeeewwww! We’re up to 14” since this morning and there are no signs of it letting up anytime soon. The blizzard warning remains in effect until tomorrow afternoon, with multiple feet expected to fall in the next 24 hours! Despite tomorrow undoubtedly being an EPIC pow day, the weather conditions will definitely have a chance of effecting operating hours. Keep an eye on tomorrow morning’s report for snow totals and hours of operation. It’s gonna be deeeeep friends!

Update #4: 7:00AM Friday

18” and counting! It’s coming down hard again this morning, so that total is sure to rise pretty quickly as we move closer to first chair. It’s going to be a killer pow day up there! Night operations are up in the air currently, as snow is expected to continue throughout the day, so stay tuned for more information on that. Drive safe and we’ll see you in the snow!

Update #5: 8:30AM Friday

It’s been DUMPING this morning! 22” at the top of the hill since yesterday morning. Come and get it! No updates to operating hours at this time, Ridge Runner opens at 10AM.

Update #6: 11:00AM Friday

24″ inches so far and still piling up! We’ve had to make some changes to operating hours and our weekend events to accommodate the snowfall. We will be closing tonight, Friday 2/28 at 4:00PM. Weekend hours remain the same, 9AM-4PM Saturday and Sunday. Our LeapFest Celebration has been postponed to next weekend, March 7th-8th. We’re loving all the snow, but most of the activities scheduled will not go as planned with THIS much snow! Postponing one week will allow the events to work as designed for maximum family fun! We know one thing for sure, the skiing and riding is phenomenal and it will remain so all weekend long. Come and get it!
