Hello again Snow Ridge friends! We hope everyone had a great summer and thank everyone who attended one of our numerous events! We’ve officially shifted gears here now, and it’s full on winter mode. I just wanted to put up a quick post to update everyone on our off-season progress and upcoming season preparations, so here you go!
Painting: If you haven’t seen already, we’ve started changing up our look around here. The single story buildings have gone to a dark gray with black trim, with the two story/taller buildings going white with black trim. You’ll notice the Wax House isn’t quite complete, but it’s going to look great when it’s done! The Office, Rental Shop, and Ski Patrol are in the plans for next summer.
Lifts: We’re in great shape with ALL of our lifts this season. All pre-season prep and inspections have been completed, leaving them ready to spin as soon as the lake effect machine kicks on. This is easily the earliest the lifts have been ready to roll in a number of years. We’re feelin’ good!
Groomer: The Pisten Bully is in the shop getting some love this week. It is getting all of the general maintenance it needs as well as some new track belts to keep her running in top shape this winter. Definitely looking forward to getting back in the driver’s seat to lay down some corduroy.
Snow Making: Our ’19-’20 snow making campaign officially kicked off yesterday! The Nov. 12th start date is definitely the earliest in recent memory, and it has us pretty excited for the upcoming season. It’s yet to be seen how the rest of November will pan out, but laying down some whale tails in early November is always a good sign! The snow guns will continue firing as temps allow, with another good run coming this weekend.
Opening Day: Now before everyone starts asking “When are you going to open?!”, let’s remember that it is only November 13th after all. It’s still early, but we’re just as excited as you are to strap on our skis and boards and take some turns! In order to open for the season, we’ll need a long stretch of sub 20 temps for snow making OR just a good old fashioned Tug Hill lake effect dump. Whichever comes first, we’ll be sure to keep everyone updated on our progress and will get those lifts spinning as soon as possible.
Well, that’s about all I can think of at the moment. Just a reminder that the final Season Pass deadline is coming up this Friday, November 15th. If you haven’t purchased your Season Pass yet, now is the time to save some coin!
We’re looking forward to another great season at Snow Ridge! Now here’s your pre-season homework: Turn those PJ’s inside out, do your snow dance, drop your gear off to our Tune Shop for a sharpen and wax, and get psyched for another great season!
